- The Whits were in town fourth of July weekend and we celebrated Grandma Tanner's 90th birthday! She really has left such an amazing legacy and a huge posterity to live up to it! With 13 children and about 80 grandchildren, this reunion was bumpin'!
- KC had a soccer game July 3rd and since his family was up in Utah they were able to see him play for the last time, as he is ending his soccer career this season. At the end of their game we had a winning score of 3-1 and were able to watch a fireworks show in the soccer stadium!
- Monday we woke up early to watch the annual hot air balloon's take off from a field a block away. KC and Scott had to walk in the parade for soccer so we went and cheered him on. Kc got really excited for the Curious George balloon, We had to take a picture. He and George have a lot in common!
We went to an outdoor theatre and watched a demonstration of the history of America. It was filled with stories, music, and talent! I am really grateful to live in America. They even handed out mini American flags after, score! Mine and KC's favorite part was watching the little children everywhere just LOVING the show!
- We ended the night with a BBQ, and it was oh so delicious! You've got to eat a hotdog or hamburger on the 4th. It should be illegal to not have a BBQ. That's just what you do!
- OH i almost forgot the greatest most random part of the day... We watched Porky Pig re-runs.. random but we all enjoyed it.
I've realized how patriotic my heart is. I love our country, I often think how differently my life would've been if I had been born in another country. I have so much respect and reverence for all the men and women serving in the armed forces. Prior to this weekend, we attended a fireside honoring America in the Marriot Center at BYU. It was beautifully arranged. Gorgeous songs were sung, stories of past history and present-day servicemen were told. They also honored two mother's whose sons were killed in action. Not one dry eye was in that stadium. It was powerful! What selfless men and women we have serving our country. I am grateful that our nation was founded under God. It is evident that as we remember him our nation, and us as individuals, are blessed. It was a great Fourth of July, I cant wait for next year!
There are at least 20 of these balloons every year!
